Yesterday the institutional presentation of Holy Week in Burgos 2026 took place in the Condestable Chapel of the Burgos Cathedral, one of the most emblematic spaces of the cathedral.
The season of the Passion has once again reached the streets of Burgos. The chill still lingers across these high Castilian plains when the hoarse thunder of bugles and drums breaks the evening stillness on Lazarus Saturday, announcing through the streets and squares of the old city the arrival of Holy Week.

Yesterday the institutional presentation of Holy Week in Burgos 2026 took place in the Condestable Chapel of the Burgos Cathedral, one of the most emblematic spaces of the cathedral.

The City Hall of Burgos hosted this morning the press conference presenting the 2026 Holy Week in Burgos.
The event featured speeches by the Mayor of Burgos, the Abbot of Holy Week, the President of the Junta de Semana Santa, and its spokesperson, who outlined the main elements of this year’s programme and the key aspects of the upcoming celebration.

Processional music will once again resonate through the streets of the city with the celebration of “Al compás de la Cuaresma”, an event that will bring together several musical groups in the atmosphere that precedes Holy Week.

Ancient Death Procession: 11:00 p.m. Santa Águeda Square, Santa Águeda Street, Francisco Salinas Cultural Center, rear of the Francisco Salinas Cultural Center, Fernán González Street, San Martín Arch, Santa Águeda Street, and Santa Águeda Square.
