On March 22, the Main Theatre of Burgos hosted the Processional Music Concert, an event that brought together several bands and musical groups from the city around the sound of Holy Week music.

Burgos Cathedral hosted the proclamation that traditionally marks the beginning of Holy Week in the city. Journalist Ernesto Sáenz de Buruaga delivered this year’s proclamation in an event attended by authorities, brotherhoods and numerous members of the public.

The Exhibition Hall of the Teatro Principal hosted today the opening of the exhibition of the 27th Holy Week Photography Contest of Burgos.

The Cofradía de Nuestra Señora de la Soledad y de Santiago held the charity concert “Notes that Break Barriers”, a musical initiative with a charitable purpose that brought together numerous attendees at the Church of the Sacred Heart, in the Convent of the Visitation (Salesian Sisters).

Processional music once again took centre stage in Burgos during Lent with the celebration of the concert “Al compás de la Cuaresma”, which brought together numerous attendees in the city centre and at the parish of San Gil.

The Brotherhood of Our Lady of Solitude and Santiago will hold the solidarity cofrade music concert “Notes that Break Barriers” on 15 March, a charitable initiative whose proceeds will be donated entirely to ARANSBUR (Association of Families of Deaf People of Burgos) and the Salesian Sisters.

The Holy Week of Burgos will witness one of its most deeply rooted expressions of devotion on 14 and 15 March, with the celebration of several kissing of hands and kissing of feet ceremonies in different parishes throughout the city.

Yesterday the institutional presentation of Holy Week in Burgos 2026 took place in the Condestable Chapel of the Burgos Cathedral, one of the most emblematic spaces of the cathedral.

The City Hall of Burgos hosted this morning the press conference presenting the 2026 Holy Week in Burgos.

The event featured speeches by the Mayor of Burgos, the Abbot of Holy Week, the President of the Junta de Semana Santa, and its spokesperson, who outlined the main elements of this year’s programme and the key aspects of the upcoming celebration.

Processional music will once again resonate through the streets of the city with the celebration of “Al compás de la Cuaresma”, an event that will bring together several musical groups in the atmosphere that precedes Holy Week.
