“Al compás de la Cuaresma” will fill the streets of Burgos with processional musi
Processional music will once again resonate through the streets of the city with the celebration of “Al compás de la Cuaresma”, an event that will bring together several musical groups in the atmosphere that precedes Holy Week.
The event will take place on Sunday, 15 March 2026, and will begin with a parade through the centre of Burgos at 17:50, bringing the sound of processional marches to the heart of the historic city.
Later, at 18:30, a concert will be held in the church of San Gil, where the participating bands will perform a repertoire typical of this period of preparation leading up to Holy Week.
The day will feature the participation of the Agrupación Musical Santísimo Sacramento y Jesús con la Cruz a Cuestas and the Agrupación Musical Las Caídas de Jesús from Soria, who will join the organising band. The youngest members will also have their moment, as the children’s drummers will take part in this musical gathering.
During the event there will also be a live raffle of the artwork “Marcos Atípico”, adding a cultural element to this musical occasion.
“Al compás de la Cuaresma” is therefore presented as an opportunity to enjoy processional music and begin to experience the atmosphere of Holy Week in Burgos, in a day that brings together tradition, music and devotion in the streets of the city.
