Ernesto Sáenz de Buruaga’s Proclamation Opens Holy Week in Burgos

Burgos Cathedral hosted the proclamation that traditionally marks the beginning of Holy Week in the city. Journalist Ernesto Sáenz de Buruaga delivered this year’s proclamation in an event attended by authorities, brotherhoods and numerous members of the public.

During his address, the speaker offered a personal reflection on the meaning of Holy Week, recalling memories and highlighting the tradition, faith and heritage that are expressed in the streets of Burgos during these days. He also praised the beauty of the Cathedral and the constant work of the brotherhoods that make this celebration possible each year.

The event, held in the cathedral, also included a musical performance by the Burgos Orfeón, which contributed to the solemn atmosphere marking the beginning of the most intense days of Holy Week in the city.
