Institutional Presentation of Holy Week in Burgos 2026

Yesterday the institutional presentation of Holy Week in Burgos 2026 took place in the Condestable Chapel of the Burgos Cathedral, one of the most emblematic spaces of the cathedral.

The event featured the participation of the Mayor of Burgos, the Provincial Deputy for Culture and the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Burgos. The presentation brought together numerous authorities, as well as representatives of the city’s brotherhoods and several musical groups associated with Holy Week in Burgos.

During the event, the religious, cultural and heritage value of Holy Week in Burgos was highlighted, together with the essential role played by the brotherhoods in preserving and transmitting this deeply rooted tradition in the city.

The ceremony also included musical participation by the group Musicae, whose performances accompanied different moments of the event and contributed to the solemn atmosphere of the presentation.

In order to make the event accessible to a wider audience, the presentation was broadcast via live streaming and included sign language interpretation.

The institutional presentation marks the beginning of the weeks leading up to Holy Week in Burgos, a time when the city begins to prepare for one of the most significant events in its religious, cultural and social calendar.
