ARRIVAL ROUTES:
The image of Jesus Bearing the Cross will proceed along San Cosme Street, Vega Square, Santa María Bridge, Santa María Arch, and Plaza del Rey San Fernando.
The image of Our Lady of Sorrows will follow San Gil Street, Avellanos Street, Laín Calvo Street, Virgen de la Paloma Street, and Plaza del Rey San Fernando.

RETURN ROUTES:
The image of Jesus Bearing the Cross will return via Santa María Square, Nuño Rasura Street, Plaza del Rey San Fernando, Santa María Arch, Santa María Bridge, Vega Square, and San Cosme Street.
The image of Our Lady of Sorrows will return along Virgen de la Paloma Street, Laín Calvo Street, Avellanos Street, and San Gil Street.

Jesus Bearing the Cross and Our Lady of Sorrows, carried on the shoulders by bearers who are members of their respective Brotherhoods.

Central act:

At 9:00 p.m., the Encounter of Jesus Bearing the Cross and Our Lady of Sorrows will take place in Plaza del Rey San Fernando. A brief Liturgy of the Word, led by the Abbot of Holy Week, will follow. The ceremony will conclude with the kiss and embrace of Jesus and His Sorrowful Mother, symbolically expressed through coordinated movements of the floats to the rhythm of the respective musical marches performed by the bands of both organizing Brotherhoods, ending with Christ’s farewell to His Mother. Afterwards, the image of Jesus Bearing the Cross will proceed to the Holy Cathedral via Nuño Rasura Street, Santa Águeda Street, and Santa María Square, to make a penitential station before the Most Holy Sacrament. The image of Our Lady of Sorrows will return to the Church of San Gil, where the traditional popular “Salve” and the moving “Hymn to Our Lady of Sorrows” will be sung, concluding the procession inside the church with a reception ceremony for the Virgin.
